 YMCA Newcomer Services is a program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada. They provide various services which include a comprehensive library of multilingual printed resources, information on Housing, Education, Health care and employment and employment preparation skills. In addition, YMCA Newcomer Services assists in filling out government forms and provides referrals to community services. Services also include a calendar of settlement events and workshop series such as weekly General Information Sessions and Coffee Talk.

 

LINC Sudbury (Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada) is funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada. LINC is an English Language Training Program and a settlement program for Newcomers to Canada and existing Permanent Residents. Enrollment is ongoing, come in any time to register for classes. For levels Basic to Advanced, full and part-time. Free Childminding services are available for enrolled clients. The Pakistan Canada Foundation of Northern Ontario is the number source of new immigrants in Sudbury and we have been serving them for the last 25 years. We address new comers needs like educational, housing settlement, social & cultural related.

The Irish Heritage Club of Sudbury promotes the continuance of Irish heritage. They offer such programs as Irish Heritage Youth Dance and Culture and Isles of Innisfree Social Housing Service.
  

Canadian Heritage recognizes the importance of cultural diversity and encourages the creation and sharing of Canadian stories, both at home and abroad. The local office, located at 19 Lisgar St., can be reached at 670 5536.

             The Sudbury German Language School is a charitable organization dedicated to the promotion and teaching of the German language and culture to children (starting at age 4) and adults of all ages. Classes are held at all levels of abilities - beginners to advanced.
   

The Società Caruso promotes, enhances and preserves Italian culture and heritage within the Canadian Multicultural Mosaic. It renders assistance to persons of Italian nationality that are in need, and establishes and maintains a library and archives of Italian heritage.

 

              

The Sudbury Multicultural and Folk Arts Association is actively involved in assisting local cultural groups in preserving, promoting and sharing their cultural heritage.

      

The Diversity Thrives Here! Project seeks to encourage community initiatives that embrace diversity with the ultimate goal of creating a community in which all citizens, particularly Aboriginal, Francophone, immigrant and multicultural groups, have an effective infrastructure of services to meet their needs.

 

       

Professions North is a local program that assists  internationally-trained professionals in Northern Ontario to reach their career goals by bridging the gap between education, experience, culture and employment.
